Drukhari Hovercraft: painting tutorial

Drukhari Hovercraft - Advanced Painting Tutorial

Who are the Drukhari, or Dark Eldar, in Warhammer? They hide a primordial, incomprehensible, and eternal evil. These characters of the Warhammer 40K saga, choose the path of the highest cruelty, even against themselves, and are sustained by the pain they are able to inflict on other living beings. All their weapons, ships, armor, and vehicles are designed to look as aggressive as possible, and cause maximum damage in combat. They are not exactly an amiable race.

By painting this Warhammer Hovercraft, we will be able to learn the gradient technique in ships, thanks to the use of airbrushes for miniatures, combined with a range of tones from our model paints, and the use of acrylic thinner to achieve smooth and contrasting transitions. Notice how the author has combined the blue color with red, in a smooth color progression that blends perfectly, applying thin layers of paint, in a gradual and controlled manner.

In the last stages of painting, we will be able to imitate the battle damage on the hull, using metallic colors, simulating the fall of the paint in combat. This technique can be applied to any flat surface to which you want to give a variation of colors to highlight lights or shadows.
