    Description

What is the Blood Gloops Effect?

Green Stuff World's Blood Gloops Effect is a special effects gel from the Slime Effects line, designed to recreate thick blood, stringy blood, clots, dense splatters, and viscous accumulations on miniatures, dioramas, and modeling projects. Its fibrous and elastic consistency allows you to create three-dimensional effects with volume, perfect for horror scenes, monstrous creatures, zombies, open wounds, and gory settings.

Unlike blood rendered solely with paint, this gel can be stretched to form strands and filaments of blood between different parts of the model. This allows you to simulate bloodstains between teeth and jaws, blood hanging from claws or weapons, torn tissue, deep wounds, or fluids connecting different parts of a scene.

Its thick texture allows you to work on both small details and larger accumulations. You can create everything from extremely fine threads of blood between a creature’s fangs to viscous masses around a wound, dense pools, suspended droplets, residue clinging to a sword, or filaments hanging from a freshly bloodied jaw.

Blood Gloops Effect is used straight from the jar and, in its original consistency, holds its shape very well, facilitating precise and controlled application. Its wet, glossy finish helps reproduce the appearance of fresh, thick blood, adding depth and realism to violent or gore-style scenes.

The amount of product used determines the final result. A small amount allows you to create fine strands and delicate droplets, while a larger amount produces thick accumulations, clots, three-dimensional splatters, and more dramatic masses of blood. Combining different thicknesses and shapes helps achieve an uneven, organic result.

How do you use the Blood Effect to create strands of blood?

Use a toothpick, a modeling tool, or an old paintbrush to pick up a small amount of product directly from the jar. Place the gel at the starting point and slowly stretch it toward another anchor point, allowing a strand of blood to form between the two surfaces.

You can use teeth, fangs, jaws, claws, weapons, limbs, wounds, exposed bones, or props as anchor points. For example, you can connect a monster’s upper and lower teeth to depict saliva mixed with blood, create strands between a claw and its victim, or add traces of stretched blood on a sword, saw, axe, or blade.

You can also use it to depict dangling blood, suspended droplets, or strands that appear to be on the verge of breaking off. This type of detail works especially well on creatures, demons, zombies, and combat scenes where a more visceral and spectacular finish is desired.

To create deep wounds or mutilated areas, apply a larger amount around the damaged area and work the gel into irregular reliefs. You can combine small strands with thicker accumulations to simulate clotted blood, torn tissue, or bloody masses. In gore scenes, this contrast between wet areas, drops, and strands creates a much more dynamic effect than a surface simply painted red.

It can also be used to create small puddles, thick stains on the ground, blood trails, or traces that connect a miniature to the scenery. For example, it can be applied between a corpse and the ground, around an amputated limb, or to form small pools beneath a wounded creature.

Adjust the amount of product to control the thickness of the strands. A small amount produces very fine strands, while a larger amount allows you to create thicker, sturdier strands. For a more natural result, combine different thicknesses and add small droplets or accumulations at the ends.

If you need to adjust its consistency, you can add a small amount of Slime Effects Thinner. Add it gradually and mix until you achieve the desired texture. A more fluid mixture can be used to spread layers of blood over surfaces, create stains, wet edges, or small puddles, while the undiluted product is better suited for forming strands and three-dimensional structures.

Blood Gloops Effect can also be combined with other acrylic paints and effects to vary the shade and achieve different finishes. You can add darker reds, browns, or blacks to represent aged or clotted blood, or combine it with Green Stuff World’s True Blood to enhance the contrast between liquid, glistening blood and thicker accumulations.

Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and work in a well-ventilated area. Before use, refer to the instructions and safety warnings on the product label.
