Tutorial: construction of Warhammer industrial base

Warhammer industrial bases - Advanced Construction Tutorial

With this tutorial, we are going to show you some techniques that you can use together or separately to get your scenic bases to be real sceneries that can place the figure in a specific place. As a base for our scenery, we will use one of 60 mm miniature round plastic bases, to which we will add different elements, with which we will get the necessary height for the figure to stand out.

For this, in this case, as a base to create this industrial environment, we will use our DM gears, helped by our transparent resin bits. Specifically the resin barrels and metal photo-etched metal plates. Once the structure is assembled, the paint job with our acrylic paints for modeling is essential to achieve a rusty look, with ranges of orange and blue colors, the most usual oxides in the different types of metals that we are going to imitate.

Warhammer industrial bases - Advanced Construction TutorialAs a tip, whenever we try to imitate surfaces with a lot of deterioration, such as rust or abandoned places, we will try to create them from a black primer, since using the dry brush technique with a miniature dry brushes, for example, will give us some first shadows and outlines in the finish that will make it easier to mark volumes and deeper areas.
