Texturing in purple tones for miniatures

Texturing in purple - Advanced painting tutorial

One of the techniques most used by all painting masters is the texturing of the different elements that make up a figure.: leather, clothes, metals, fabrics, jewelry, etc.

Texturing in violet tones, or any other color, can be achieved in different ways. The most common is to make small strokes with the tip of any kind of miniature paint brushes using, for example, the Silver Series Kolinsky Brush - Size 1 on the surface to be textured, starting with a dark color and gradually lightening that color, with mixtures of lighter colors, applied in increasingly concentrated and small areas.

Between each layer of paint, an intermediate layer of ink is usually added, or of a very diluted color, in order to correctly blend the color with the previous and subsequent layers. It is an elaborate technique that, with practice, gives magnificent results and can be used on any type of resin busts and figures or vehicles.
