This model uses a 1 mW, Class 2 red beam. Class 2 lasers are visible and limited to low power (usually up to 1 mW), intended for general use, and under normal conditions, the natural blink reflex helps prevent prolonged exposure.

In contrast, higher-class lasers (e.g., 3R/3B) can pose more risk and are also restricted in many markets for use as pointers; therefore, choosing Class 2 is the most sensible option for hobbyists.

Safety warnings:

• Never point at eyes or people/animals, and do not look directly at the beam (basic safety rules for any laser).
• Avoid pointers of dubious origin. There are devices that are mislabeled or without reliable classification, and these can pose a real risk to the eyes.
