How to prepare a collector's bust for painting

Here are the general steps to prepare a collectible bust for painting:

  1. Clean the bust: Use a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove any dust or debris from the surface of the bust.
  2. Sand the surface: Sand the surface of the bust with fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out any rough spots and to create a surface that's ready for painting.
  3. Prime the surface: Apply a thin layer of primer to the bust. This will help the paint adhere better and create a consistent base for the paint to stick to.
  4. Allow the primer to dry: Leave the primer to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.
  5. Apply basecoat: Apply a basecoat of paint to the bust, using a brush or an airbrush.
  6. Allow the basecoat to dry: Leave the basecoat to dry completely before applying additional layers of paint if desired.
  7. Add details: Once the basecoat is dry, you can add additional layers of paint to create details and highlights on the bust.
  8. Seal the paint: Apply a clear coat of sealant to the bust to protect the paint and give it a glossy finish.

Note: These steps are general guidelines, and the exact preparation process may vary depending on the particular bust and materials used. It is recommended that you carefully read the assembly instructions supplied with the bust.
