Converted Horticulous Slimux

Hello miniature lovers,

This is Games Workshop's Horticulous Slimux, which has already been painted by the talented David Sopper and Angelo di Chello (Golden Demon and Slayer Sword winners). As you can see, this miniature was heavily converted. I love the minis designed by Gaku Matsubayashi (I still have to paint the Bilepiper among many other minis he has created!). But with Horticulous Slimux, I think Games Workshop jumped over the shark. In my humble opinion, the original snail is too Disney-like. Big papa Nurgle needs more pustles and pus, don't you think?

So I've decided to get rid of the tiny feet and I 've changed the face of that monstrous mount. As you can see in the first WIP picture, I used Green stuff and micro balls from Green Stuff World and some bitz from Games Workshop's Drukhari miniatures (former Dark Eldars) to make that beast more Nurglesque. Then I primed it and later decided to ass some mushrooms (GW's bitz too).

Then, after adding the basic colours, I tried to add a few details (You can't see it on the picture, but there's a frog hiding in the tree (only seen from behind).

To make it more slimy, I have adde a mix of GW's Nurgle Rot and Scale colour Intense Yellow under that huge slug.

The base is from Forgeworld's Shart'or, which was magnetized with some Green Stuff World's Magnetic sheet.

I hope you like him! It took quite some time to achieve, but that's exactly how I wanted it to be.
