Gotrek on Oak Plinth
GW Gotrek Gurnisson stands triumphant on the hills above Karak Eightpeaks. Base cut from oak log, sanded and filled. Terrain sculpted with milliput and slate. All scratch built. Fish 3D printed, painted and inset in GSW UV resin.

Plinth was cut from an oak log with circular saw. Dried, filled with wood filler and sanded down to a smooth finish.
Used Milliput and state to build texture to ground. Wanted the forms of the bark to dictate the composition of the piece.
Once primed, painted the base with a mixture of stippling and drybrushing with a large brush. Once dried, mixed up some washes containing flock and dried leaves to start adding moss foliage.
Added a variety of tufts, flock and laser cut plants to build texture
Dammed the side of the plinth then used GSW UV resin to build up layers of water. 3D printed and painted some 32mm scale fish and insterted them with each layer of resin to suspend them. Then used GSW water splash gel, artificial snow and white paint to simulate running water down the stream
Finally pinned the miniature in place, painted the sides of the plinth in black and added some final foliage around his feet to tie him into the scene. He was painted with a mix of nmm and glazing techniques for the metal and skintones, with some simple freehand for his tattoos
