I started with a simple wooden base, some foam, and some hydrocal stones.

I put everything together and used Vallejo's texture pastes and some stones to pull it all together.

I covered the wood with masking tape and primed the base.

I painted the stones and the earth. I also used some dry pigments on the piece, but I forgot to take a photo of that step.

Finally, I applied flock and some grass/flower tufts and stained the wooden base.
