One of my passions is strange futuristic vehicles.
Although at first, the scheme I chose was military green, for reasons I will tell you later on, I decided to give it a desertic air.
The feeling of realism is achieved by adding small details to the model, in this case scratching the paint to make it look wear and tear.
In this photo, you can see a diagram of the different types of wear we apply.
With the help of a piece of sponge, we will give small touches in different areas, to imitate the rust. We'll use a reddish brown paint.
All areas of the vehicle must be treated with different wear and tear. Remember that the areas closest to the ground are usually more worn out than the elevated areas.
Remember I told you, I decided to give it a desert-like feel. That was because on a trip with friends, I was able to collect sand from the beach in Omaha, Normandy, which I used for the floor of this scene.
That's why I decided to make a sheet metal poster for him and bury him in the sand at the base.
There are many products based on enamels or oils that you can use for the effects of dirt. These are always used with an oil-based thinner, which can leave a shiny effect on the model. You can varnish in matt then for the final finish.
As I always tell you, the effects of wear, rust or damage must be very gentle and logically applied. The edges always suffer more wear than the flat areas.
Here you have a detailed plan where you can see the semi buried sign, and the decal decoration that applies throughout the vehicle.
Underneath the sand-coloured paint, the primer can be seen in green. Use shrubs painted red, so that the chromatic effect would be much more accentuated.
