Giant Undead Anglerfish for my Undead Pirates

Here is a giant anglerfish miniature which counts as a Terrorgheist in my Vampire Covenant army for The Ninth Age.

I converted a whole Undead Pirates army and it's one of the main pieces of the crew.

The miniature is the "Giant Anglerfish" from Antimatter Games. I also used the Idoneth Deepkin boat, some GW Empire miniatures and of course green stuff and milliput (mainly for the tentacles).

I wanted the base to be dynamic and really interesting to look at so I created this scene with Kraken's tentacles and the poor zombie pirates on the shipwreck.

Hope you'll like it!

Sculpting and Converting the piece

Here you can see how I did the tentacles: milliput for the base and green stuff for the suckers. I also added some gut to the fish's mouth in order to make it look more frightening.

For the pirates I just mixed some empire and skeleton GW miniatures.

Painting the base

I started to paint the base first because their were more details on it than on the miniature.

I took time to paint the wood of the shipwreck with many thin brown lines  of different tones to make it look more realistic and GW shades. For the rest of the base I did nothing really tricky.

For the base I used Prince August still Water. I made a formwork with modelling clay and I tinted the resin with some green paint.

I also used some grass tufts from GSW and painted sand where the shipwreck beached.

Here is how it looks totally finished and joined! :)

I also add some drool to monster's mouth between his teeth to make it more gory. I made it with tiny melted blister bits.

For the base I also used some melted blister bits to make some splashes around kraken's tentacles.
